Samsung Phone Speaker Muffled After Water? Fix It in 60 Seconds (S24, S23, A55 & More)

Samsung speaker sounding muffled or distorted? Our free water ejection tool fixes Samsung Galaxy speakers in seconds. Works on all S, A, and Z series models.

Samsung Galaxy phones from the S7 onward carry IP68 water resistance ratings, but a high IP rating does not mean water cannot enter the speaker mesh. After a swim, a spill, or heavy rain, water frequently lodges in the bottom-firing speaker — and the result is muffled, distorted, or quieter audio.

Samsung IP ratings at a glance

  • Galaxy S20–S24, Z Fold/Flip 4+, Note 10+: IP68 (1.5m for 30 min)
  • Galaxy A55, A54, A35: IP67
  • Galaxy A15, A14 and most budget A-series: IP54 — splash only

Android-specific ejection steps

  1. Open Chrome and visit SpeakerRescue
  2. Select Android > Samsung from the device menu
  3. Turn media volume to maximum (not ringer volume — they're separate on Android)
  4. Hold the phone with the bottom speaker facing down
  5. Run the 165Hz mode for 30–60 seconds
  6. Repeat 2–3 times if the speaker still sounds muffled

Galaxy S24 Ultra and Z Fold dual speakers

S Ultra and Fold devices have two speakers — bottom and earpiece. Run the session twice: once with the phone upright (for the earpiece) and once inverted (for the bottom speaker).

Galaxy Buds

For Galaxy Buds and Buds Pro, select AirPods/Earbuds in the device menu — the acoustic principle is identical. Hold each bud speaker-down over a cloth and run 165Hz then 528Hz for 30 seconds each.
